Ian Gillespie
BA, BSoc Sci (Hons), MBA, MA (UCT)
Ian Gillespie worked in business for many years in the course of which he gained a degree in economics and an MBA at the University of Cape Town. Later, his interest in intrapsychic and relationship dynamics led him to obtain BSocSci (Hons) and Master’s degrees in psychology, also at UCT, where he has guest lectured in health psychology.
He has been involved in the Heart Transplant Unit as well as the Geriatric Unit at Groote Schuur Hospital and is currently involved with HIV/AIDS counselling and counsellor supervision at ATICC. As former national Chair of the Division of Health Psychology and Sport Psychology he served on the Council of the Psychological Society of South Africa. He is currently national Chair of the Confederation of Complementary Health Associations of South Africa (COSHASA) and serves on a number of other professional bodies.
