Welmoet Bok
BA (Hons) (UNISA) MA (UCT)

Welmoet Bok initially qualified as a teacher before going on to study psychology. She obtained a BA (Hons) degree in psychology through UNISA and a Master’s degree at the University of Cape Town. She has guest-lectured in health psychology at UCT and at the University of the Western Cape.
She has been in private practice with Ian Gillespie in Wynberg, Cape Town, since 1995. For 20 years she was involved in HIV/AIDS counselling at the AIDS Training Information and Counselling Centre (ATICC), as a counsellor, trainer and counselling supervisor. She is a former Chair of the Division of Health Psychology and Sport Psychology of the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA) and has been a member of the Standards Generating Body for Psychology of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
She is an avid dog owner, scuba diver and recent grandmother.
