BA (Hons) (UNISA) MA (UCT)
I, Welmoet Bok initially qualified as a teacher before going on to study psychology. I obtained a BA (Hons) degree in psychology through UNISA and a Master’s degree at the University of Cape Town and have guest-lectured in health psychology at UCT and at the University of the Western Cape.
I was in private practice with Ian Gillespie in Wynberg, Cape Town, since 1995 until his death in 2013. Since then I have practiced solo in the same rooms. I have recently moved my main consulting rooms to a lovely venue at 24 Roseville Road, Claremont.I also practice from Harbour Bay Medical Centre, Simon’s Town on Thursday afternoons.
For 20 years I was also involved in HIV/AIDS counselling at the AIDS Training Information and Counselling Centre (ATICC), as a counsellor, trainer and counselling supervisor. In the early years I served as Chair of the Division of Health Psychology and Sport Psychology of the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA) and have als0 been a member of the Standards Generating Body for Psychology of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
I am a committed dog owner, a mother to two sons and a grandmother to two delightful grandchildren.
